My Students:
My classroom consists of twenty-two individuals who are filled with eagerness, bursting with curiosity & abounding with wiggles! These students need additional opportunities to allow their bodies an outlet for this energy. With such diverse needs an equally diverse solution needs to be offered. I think stability balls as seating is the solution!
My Project:
My hands-on, student center approach, which includes brain breaks, cooperative learning and whole body responses, does wonders to allow the students time to get out some of the excess energy; however, there are students who are struggling with staying on task, maintaining stamina and focusing on instruction. Through research, I found that the answer could be to provide alternative seating for my high energy students with stability balls to allow my students an outlet for this extra liveliness.
My Students Need:
My goal is to provide 22 stability balls, to accommodate each of the frisky first grade students, in order to increase productivity and stamina and decrease behavior concerns.
