My Students:
My students come to school with most of their needs met and with lots of parent support. My students still face similar issues of focus, organization, time management and other social skills. Having the options of flexible seating allow students to work in a way that best meets their needs.
My Project:
Two years ago I ditiched individual desks and chairs for tables and various other flexible seating choices and work spaces in my classroom. I believe in the power of choice and have seen first hand how for a lot of students choosing a work space that is best for them has helped with focus, organization, time management, and improving social skills. The majority of seating options I have been able to provide up to this point have been paid for out of pocket by me.
My Students Need:
My students need 4 wobble chairs and 2 stability balls to increase the options in my classroom for flexible seating and flexible work spaces.
