My Students:
I have a very energetic, inquisitive group of 8th grade students. They are a diverse group and some face challenges that are unfathomable to adults. Their interests range from Olympic swimming to horse back riding to video game playing. This is a awesome group of over 130 kiddos!
My Project:
Experiencing waves in the pool, hearing various sounds, feeling the heat on faces when out in the sun have probably all been experienced by our students. But they rarely, if ever, SEE those waves! With these products, and the activities we develop, students will be able to SEE the quantitative ENERGY and resulting response behind waves. They can observe the quantum nature of standing wave patterns, nodes and anti-nodes of longitudinal waves as well as the resonance of anything that vibrates.
My Students Need:
To experience various types of wave movement, see the energy produced by those waves, and mathematically calculate the energy of the wave.
