My Students:
My students have varied interests, are deeply curious, and have widely different learning abilities. I have over 100 students on my team and most of them are from middle to middle/low economic backgrounds. Most of them will never experience the activities with thermal energy that we could bring to them with these tools of teaching.
My Project:
Thermal energy encompasses everyone's life and activities. Thermal expansion and heat transfer affect everything from weather to building materials. This money will allow us to develop lessons so our students can use the tools to interact and see thermal energy in a hands on way. We can empower them with the tools and knowledge to be able to see the temperature and changing energy, how it is affected by different variables and how it flows from and to different objects.
My Students Need:
To be able to experience activities using state of the art tools that will allow them to understand basic principles of thermodynamics.
