Women's Giving Circle

Great Things Happen When Caring Women Gather

The Olathe Public Schools Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle meets each spring and fall to select one grant to support with a $8,000-$15,000 grant. Members donate $100 prior to each gathering and their gifts are pooled to provide a grant to an Olathe educator who has a solution to overcome an obstacle to learning.

At each gathering, members hear three proposals, narrowed down from those received from around the district. Members vote that evening to award a grant to one (or more) of the projects. 100% of each member’s gift supports funding the grants.

How to Participate

The Women's Giving Circle is open to any woman who wants to support public education. Reserve your spot at the next gathering with your $100 gift (select Women’s Giving Circle from the drop down menu).

About the Grants

Olathe educators are asked to either: 

• Identify a challenge/problem impacting student achievement and submit a grant proposal stating how they would address that challenge/problem utilizing resources funded with a grant from the Women’s Giving Circle, or
• Identify an innovative solution to challenges/problems impacting student achievement. 

Sustaining Members

Sustaining Members are the foundation of the Women’s Giving Circle. Sustaining Members opt for recurring payments for their membership prior to each gathering regardless of their ability to attend. Sustaining Members who cannot attend the events are sent the three proposals prior to the gathering and can vote remotely for their favorite grant proposal.

Over 100 members have chosen to be Women’s Giving Circle Sustaining Members. These members ensure that the group will grant out at least $10,000 per cycle.
