Originally a Kansan, Dave Rock has been an employee of John Deere Company for over thirty years. A marketing and sales career path has taken his family through 12 moves and 9 different communities, experiencing life in the Midwest, South and West coast along with overseas travel. Dave and his wife, Lisa, chose to locate here because of the quality of education available. Olathe is a great community with much to offer. The Rocks are glad to be “home” in Kansas, after their many moves, and are proud to say they are Olatheans.
Dave has a BS and MS in Agribusiness from Kansas State University and is currently working on the K-State Masters in Agribusiness program Industry Advisory board and the College of Agriculture/ K-State Research and Extension Dean and Director's Advisory Council. He is a member of Church of the Resurrection, Resurrection West and an active participant in mission programs, serving meals to those in need, as well as a member of the stewardship committee and campus advisory team.
Dave and Lisa have a daughter, Christine, who is a sophomore at Olathe Northwest High School. Christine, a varsity tennis team member, is in the Aerospace & Engineering program and enjoys the challenges and development opportunities this program is providing. They have two Shelties that love to go for walks and bark--- a lot.
About his opportunity to serve on the Foundation Board of Directors and promote excellence in Olathe, Dave commented, “Education is the foundation that opens the doors of opportunity throughout life. The more we can do to insure our youth have access to education and develop a desire for life-long learning, the better prepared they will be to compete and succeed in their endeavors throughout life”.
